It’s official. B.Y.U.’s Jimmer Fredette has earned the Naismith Men’s College Player of the Year Award, beating out Ohio State’s Jared Sullinger, Duke’s Nolan Smith and the University of Connecticut’s Kemba Walker. Jimmer is B.Y.U.’s first ever player to win the award.
In addition to the Naismith, Jimmer also won the Chip Hilton Award from the National Association of Basketball Coaches – an award for the senior who best demonstrates character on and off the court
Making pretty much a clean sweep, Fredette has also won the Oscar Robertson Trophy, the Adolph Rupp Award and the Associated Press Player of the Year award.
